What will the DasBoot system cost?

The final pricing has not yet been fully defined. However, the Initial Release of the DasBoot system—including one 7-inch touch display—is expected to be priced at less than  €2,000.

Final pricing may vary depending on configuration, vessel layout, and optional components. More detailed pricing information will be announced closer to the official release.

Does installation require new sensors or additional wiring?

In most cases, no additional sensors are required. DasBoot has been designed to operate in parallel with existing instruments, using data from the vessel’s current sensors and wiring.

The system connects to existing signal lines, allowing it to function either independently or alongside the original gauges and controls. This approach minimises installation effort, avoids unnecessary rewiring, and preserves the original instrumentation as a backup.

In certain configurations or where legacy sensors are incompatible, limited additional components may be required. These cases are evaluated individually during installation planning.

How is fuel consumption measured?

Fuel consumption measurement requires additional flow sensors, as consumption cannot be calculated reliably from engine data alone.

The required number of sensors depends on the engine type and fuel system configuration:

  • Petrol (gasoline) engine without a return line:
    1 sensor is required.

  • Petrol (gasoline) engine with a return line:
2 sensors are required (supply and return).

  • Diesel engine:
2 sensors are required to accurately measure fuel flow and return.

DasBoot calculates real fuel consumption by measuring the difference between supplied and returned fuel where applicable, ensuring accurate and stable readings.

The system is designed around the OF07ZAT flow sensor, which is the default and recommended sensor for fuel consumption measurement within the DasBoot platform.

Alternative sensor types may be supported depending on installation requirements, but compatibility is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

What level of expertise is required for installation?

Installation of the DasBoot system requires standard DIY-level technical skills, commonly found in typical marine retrofit or upgrade projects.

The expected competencies include:

  • Identifying and tracing existing electrical wires

  • Creating wire branches and connections

  • Routing and securing new cables

  • Basic mechanical skills, such as installing a fuel flow sensor into a fuel line

No specialised software development or advanced electronics expertise is required. However, a general understanding of marine electrical systems and careful workmanship are important to ensure safe and reliable installation.

For more complex configurations or where local regulations require it, installation by a qualified marine technician is recommended.

Do you provide installation services?

We are not an installation company and do not carry out installations directly.

However, we are looking for partners experienced in the on-site deployment of our solution. If you are a marine technician, shipyard, or service provider and are interested in becoming an authorised DasBoot installer in your region, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Please contact us to discuss partnership opportunities and technical requirements.
